An email from Cindy Cooke:

You may not have to run with a Scottie but if you've got a good one,

you've got to walk pretty darned fast and have a long stride. I'm short and my

legs are short so I need to take as long a stride as possible to keep up with

my dogs. If I've got one that I can walk with in heels, it goes to a pet

home. Secondly, many women wear dresses or skirts that flow and hit the side

of  their dog's head or ears. This causes the dog to turn its head or lay

one ear back--not attractive.Thirdly, the best clothes to wear when showing

your dogs are clothes that make you as invisible as possible. No loud colors,

no fancy jewelry, no frills. The handler is the frame, not the picture.

Fourth, Toni is right about the noise that shoes make at indoor shows. I

have videos of many specialty shows and you can always hear the people

with leather soles as they walk around the ring.

Finally, everyone approaches showing in their own way. Toni, like me,

watches the top amateur and professional handlers and take our cues from

them.
