Beinnein Kennels

Beinnein Kennels was registered with the Canadian Kennel Club in March of 1969. We had obtained our original scotty from Mr. John Devlin of Thornhill Ontario, who was a very well known and respected breeder and judge. It wasn't very long before we too became successful in the show ring producing some of Canada's top scotties and achieving permanent registration status for the name Beinnein (a highly coveted and difficult to obtain award at that time). Many of Canada's top breeders obtained dogs from us including: Marg Moran McQuinn, Judy Baldock nee McVeigh,, Shirley Canfield, Shirley Livingston to name a few.

Darle continued to show and groom scotties throughout her teens and worked at different times as an assistant to some of Canada's top professional handlers such as Susanne and Allan Hearne. It was during this time that she met and fell in love with Bouviers and at 16 she bought her first one from Madrone Ledge Kennels in Maryland.

Ron and Darle were married in 1981 and both planned to show and raise dogs, however in 1985 we were forced to take a sabbatical for several years to take care of a sick child. In 1992, we began again with a fresh start. The first litter was born May 2/93, a litter of scotties which produced 3 Champions and multiple group placers, 1 is multi group winning BIS Ch. Beinnein's Black Magic. The 2nd litter produced 3 more champions, including Can/Am Ch Beinnein's King's Quest who was "select" at the Can. National Specialty at 12 months of age and reserve at Devon, placing well at Hatborough and Montgomery. We have taken several wins over the years on Montgomery Weekend and Ch. Beinnein's Spellbinder won Best of Winners at Devon in 1998 and took the Canadian National Specialty the same year. We have been top breeder of scotties in Canada many years while producing an average of two litters a year..

We have not been as aggressive with our Bouviers but have done well at the Boosters and Specialties. Every female we have has taken a major at a booster or specialty. Two from Am Ch. Galbraith's Iron Eyes have done very well..  In 1997 Ch. Beinnein's Dark Secret took Winners Bitch and Best Puppy at the Alberta Bouvier Specialty and in 1998 Ch. Beinnein's Going in Style took Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Puppy at the same specialty and Ch. Beinnein's Inherit the Wind took Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex at the Canadian National Specialty.

We continue to strive to produce puppies of quality, temperament and health who are excellent representatives of their breed in the ring and in their homes. We occasionally have puppies, young show stock, some of whom are finished and older dogs for sale. We are always willing to answer questions and to assist in any way we can.
